For years, the typical protocols around cleaning and sanitising haven’t changed very much, and in many cases, we often find that harmful and toxic chemicals such as ammonia, chlorine bleach and peroxides are used in cleaning regimes for disinfecting.

Whilst many of these products are effective at decontamination when in their wet state, as soon as the surfaces are dried or wiped, the surfaces can rapidly become a hotbed for bacterial growth, meaning that between cleaning cycles the surface can become dangerously contaminated.

Another alarming fact is that very often the laboratory recommended dwell times for disinfectants to be effective in killing bacteria and viruses is between 2 and 10 minutes. When was the last time you saw a cleaner spray a surface and leave for 10 minutes before wiping clean?

When Zonitise antimicrobial surface treatments are applied, this is a registered disinfectant in its own right. However, due to the nano-antimicrobial technology used to bond this incredibly thin and invisible disinfectant coating to a surface or touchpoint, it remains constantly active against harmful bacteria and viruses for up to 1 year. Once the constantly self-sanitising coating is applied, the only thing cleaners need to concentrate on is ensuring the surfaces don’t become soiled or dirty – and PH neutral cleaning products should be used. Not only does this save you money, but you are helping the environment too so it’s a win-win!
